Coming Soon: Jon & Erin are Married!!!

Remember these two from a post last year?

Well, they just got married this past Saturday!  Their wedding was so beautiful and so "them"....Erin was flat out gorgeous and I've never seen Dowy happier!!  I can't wait to show you the pictures!

I just finished editing all 780+ pictures today (I narrowed it down from 1200-something) and just need to look through them one more time, export them from Lightroom, burn them to C.D.'s and then upload them to my blog and post them!

I really, really can't wait to show off Erin and Dowy's (a.k.a. Jon's) beautiful day...I'll post the images next week, Lord willing!

Boaz: 6 Months!!!

I can't believe this little guy is already 6 months old!  I had the wonderful privilege of taking his 3 month pictures in December and this past Monday I got to do his 6 month!

Boaz is such an adorable little boy and it's been really neat to capture, through picture, the changes that have taken place in him as he gets older.  Before I know it, he'll be walking! :)

Anyways, enjoy my favorites from his photo shoot!

When Mrs. Jackson brought Boaz to me for the pictures, I couldn't believe how cute his outfit was!!  We were planning on getting pictures out in the woods (with a cute winter outfit on) but it had just snowed that morning.  Everything was sopping wet, so we poured the water off a porch seat, wiped it dry with a towel, and took pictures there instead. :)

Yep, he's definitely a cutie. :)

Love this face...

It was pretty cold outside still, so we soon went back inside and took pictures in the warm house.

This face pretty much melts me. :)

Ha!

Showing off his sitting up skills.  :)

Talk about some blue eyes!!

We had to have some naked baby pictures!  I mean, who doesn't love that soft, squishy baby skin?!

Playing with his tummy... love it!  :)

I also loved this blue crocheted blanket we used in his session!  (After all, blue is one of my many favorite colors. :)

Ah!  He's so cute!! :)

 Got to love everything baby...

So, what did I tell you?  He's pretty cute, right?!  Yep, and I get to take his 9 month and 1 year pictures too!  So you'll get to see more of this cute fellow eventually!

Kimber :)

P.S. - I must say a thank you to Gabrielle, Boaz's sister, for helping me out with Boaz.  She carried the blankets and toys for me and helped out wherever she could.  She also came up with some of the photo ideas you saw in this post...thanks Gabrielle!

What I Love: The Story

I have wanted to post about this movie/CD for a while.  It all began with an email from my Aunt Megan.  She said she had bought this really great C.D. called The Story.  Then she let us borrow it (big mistake).  I was driving up to Northern VA when I first heard the songs on it.  Mama put the C.D. in and told me the title of the first song and I just listened.  It was absolutely beautiful...so beautiful that my eyes welled up with tears (not a good thing when you're a beginner driver :).

You see, every song on the C.D. is sung (by the leading Christian musicians) from the perspective of one of the "Bible heroes" like Joshua, Job, Jesus, etc.  The first song, The Creation, was just an overture but it was so expressive and so moving that I could just see God creating everything out of nothing.  It was really amazing.

The songs continued and Mama would continue to tell me the titles and who sung the song.  So many of the songs spoke to me and I saw the "everyday" Bible heroes in a different light.

Needless to say, my entire family loves this C.D.!   We then found out that there was also a movie called The Story that used the same music on the C.D. and just added video.  So, we had to get it!

Mama bought the movie, The Story, for Daddy for Christmas, and we all watched it together one day.  We all had to shake butter (thanks to our cow, Halle) and figured it would be a good time to watch it.  The first song, The Creation, played and the videos put to the music made me cry again.  Quite honestly, most of us had tears in our eyes.  It was just beautiful.

The songs continued and, one after the other, we were able to identify with the Bible characters and to put ourselves in their shoes.

The second song is called "Good" and it's about Adam and Eve.  The words of the song cry with the sadness of Adam and Eve after they sinned and were separated from God.  And I could go on and on!

There are a few songs that don't speak as loudly to me as the others, but they're all really good.  My very favorites are:  Good (Adam and Eve), Who but You (Abraham and Sarah), It Must be You (Moses), Your Heart (David), Born for This (Esther), When Love Sees You (Jesus), How Love Wins (Thief), Alive (Mary Magdalene), and Empty (the Disciples). [Yes, I realize that's most of them. :)]

I cannot adequately portray the beauty of the songs on this C.D./DVD.  I would really like to inspire everyone in the world to get this.  I like the DVD better than the C.D. because of the video but the songs speak just as well by themselves.

So, when you have a spare second, please check out The Story.  Here's the website...and thanks for letting me share about something I love so much! :)

It Snowed!!!

Believe it or not but my family saw its first big snow of the year this past Monday!  And its almost March...I mean, winter is almost over!!  Anyways, even though the snow was very late in coming I loved having it here. :)  I got to go out and take pictures (!!) the morning after it snowed and found lots of neat icicles and picturesque things.  Since I never posted last week I have a good amount of pictures for your viewing pleasure today. :)

And, just to give you an idea of the crazy weather in this state that I live in...it snowed on Sunday night, was 19 degrees Monday night and today it was in the mid-70's.  :)

I love icicles!

I really love the way the sun is shining through this leaf!

See the rainbow?!

Pictures like these make me so grateful I bought the 60mm micro lens!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
